SUBJECT: Motor Graders, Bid B1800022
The Public Works Department recommends awarding the bid to the lowest bidder that meets specs, Wagner
Equipment for six 2018 Caterpillar 140M3 All Wheel Drive Motor Graders. The bid from Wagner Equipment for
2018 Caterpillar 12M3 AWD motor graders did not meet specifications in the low and high gear horse power.
The base price of each machine is $254,096.61. We would like the following options:
Option C (3 Yr/6000 Hr Ext Power Train Warranty) for all six machines at a cost of $8,990.00 for a total of
$53,940.00; Option E (Online Manuals) at a cost of $350.00 per computer (for one computer); Option G
(Hydraulic Angle "V" Plow) for five MDP Plows at a cost of $18,839.65 each for a total of $94,198.25 and one
MDPX Plow at a cost of $21,543.65; Option I (Heated Windows) is included in the base price and we would
like this option on all six machines.
The cost for six Caterpiller 140M3 AWD Motor Graders from Wagner Equipment with the above options is
$1,694,611.56.
There is $1,890,000.00 budgeted for this purchase.
