Lot B, RE -3841, Weld County, Colorado
Soilogic Project ft 17-1288
Ms. Bruxvoort:
Soilogic, Inc. (Soilogic) personnel have completed the geologic evaluation you requested
for the above referenced parcel. Our evaluation was completed through review of
mapped and published information concerning site soil and groundwater conditions. A
list of the references reviewed is included with this report.
The subject property includes Lot B, of Recorded Exemption RE -3841, a total of
approximately 32 acres, located in a portion of the Southwest 1 4 of Section 30, Township
3 North, Range 68 West of the 6th Principal Meridian in Weld County, Colorado. We
understand the site may be rezoned as agricultural. Building and septic system
construction is not anticipated at this time.
Based on aerial photography, the site appears to consist of pasture land and is vegetated
in grasses. The site contains a gentle overall slope downward to the east with the
maximum difference in ground surface elevation across the parcel estimated to be on the
order of approximately 35 feet based on review of topographic maps of the area. A lower
lying marshy area that appears to pond water at times throughout the year is generally
centrally located north to south and at the east end of the subject property.
The included soil type delineation diagram outlines those soil groupings identified at the
site by Weld County Soil Conservation Service (SCS) maps. SCS descriptions of those
soil types are included with this report. In general, the near surface soils at this site
consist of low plasticity silty to sandy clay from the Wiley -Colby complex. About 13%

of the site located along the eastern boundary of the property falls within the Aquolls and
Aquepts series. The near surface site soils in the Wiley -Colby series consist of colian
deposits Holocene and Upper Pleistocene geologic periods. Soils in the limited area of
the Aquolls and Aquepts series are variable and unknown. Geologic maps of the area
indicate the overburden soils are underlain by the upper unit of the Pierre Shale bedrock
formation from the Upper Cretaceous period consisting of claystone, siltstone and
sandstone of varying composition. Mapped information indicates the property is not in
an area identified as being flood prone and would be expected to have groundwater at
depths ranging from approximately 5 to 20 below ground surface with seasonal high
groundwater levels anticipated to be less than 10 feet. Seasonal high groundwater levels
in the range of 0.5 to 1.5 feet below ground surface are listed for soils in the Aquolls and
Aquepts series for a limited area of the site. According to SCS data, the depth to bedrock
would be expected to be greater than 5 feet.
During our review of available site data, we did not identify other potential geologic
hazards as outlined in 1-14B. 1041. In addition, we did not identify economically
recoverable gravel resources at this site.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If we can be of
further service to you in any way or if you have any questions concerning the enclosed
information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Very Truly Yours,
Soilogie, Ines

MAP INFORMATION
The soil surveys that comprise your AOI were mapped at
1:24,000.
Warning: Soil Map may not be valid at this scale.
Enlargement of maps beyond the scale of mapping can cause
misunderstanding of the detail of mapping and accuracy of soil
line placement_ The maps do not show the small areas of
contrasting soils that could have been shown at a more detailed
scale.
Please rely on the bar scale on each map sheet for map
measurements.

Coordinate System: Web Mercator (EPSG:3857)
Maps from the Web Soil Survey are based on the Web Mercator
projection, which preserves direction and shape but distorts
distance and area. A projection that preserves area, such as the
Albers equal-area conic projection, should be used if more
accurate calculations of distance or area are required.
This product is generated from the USDA -N RCS certified data as
of the version date(s) listed below.
Soil Survey Area: Weld County, Colorado, Southern Part
Survey Area Data: Version 15, Sep 22, 2016
Soil map units are labeled (as space allows) for map scales
1:50,000 or larger.
Date(s) aerial images were photographed: Aug 30, 2014 —Sep
18, 2014
The orthophoto or other base map on which the soil lines were
compiled and digitized probably differs from the background
imagery displayed on these maps. As a result, some minor
shifting of map unit boundaries may be evident.
