RESIDENTS' RIGHTS MONTH
OCTOBER 2018
Speak Up: Know Your Rights and How to Use Them
WHEREAS, there are more than 800 individuals living in eight nursing homes and
nearly 850 individuals living in 25 assisted living facilities in Weld County; and
WHEREAS, all residents should be honored and celebrated by advocating for
their dignity, autonomy and self-determination; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Ombudsmen, along with individuals and groups
across the country, will be celebrating Residents' Rights Month to emphasize the
importance of residents being informed about their rights; engaging residents as
partners in achieving quality care and quality of life; and having residents speak
up about what is important to them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Weld County
Commissioners does hereby proclaim the month of October 2018 as Weld County
Long -Term Care Residents' Rights Month, and encourage all citizens to join in
this important observance.
