RE: REQUEST FOR SPEED ZONING TO 30 MPH ON WEST "C" STREET TO NORTH
66TH AVENUE AND INSTALLATION OF A STOP SIGN AT THE INTER-
SECTION OF WEST "C" STREET ONTO NORTH 71ST AVENUE.
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Engineering Services
has recommended to the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that a "Stop" sign needs to be installed at
the intersection of West "C" Street onto North 71st Avenue , so as
to stop all traffic entering North 71st Avenue and to insure
safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Engineering Services
has recommended to the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that conditions exist which make it necessary
to post the speed limit on West "C" Street at 30 mph to insure
safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners has studied the
recommendations of the Department of Engineering Services , and
has determined that said stop sign is necessary and to insure
safety to the traveling public, said speed zone to 30 mph is
necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners that the Board deems it advisable and in the best
interest of Weld County, to regulate, warn, and guide traffic, as
more fully stated above, and that said traffic control devices are
for the safety of the general public, and must further conform
to the State Manual and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made

September, A.D. , 1977.

Stop sign installation and speed limit 71st Avenue and
subject
W C Street
To insure safety to the traveling public, I recommend that
W C Street from 71st Avenue to N 66th Avenue be controlled
with a 30 mile speed limit and a stop sign be installed at
the intersection making 71st Avenue a thru road and W C Street
a stop as per attached sketch.
Would you please adopt the necessary resolution for this.
