MEN'S BASKETBALL

WHEREAS, the University of Northern Colorado Men's Basketball Team won the
CollegeInsider.com Basketball Tournament, a first in UNC's postseason history
and the first in the state of Colorado to win a Division I national postseason
basketball tournament since 1940; and
WHEREAS, the team's season ended with a Division I school -record of 26 wins in
the 2017-18 season; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners proudly congratulates the
University of Northern Colorado Men's Basketball Team on winning the CIT
Championship in 2018 and wishes to express its recognition and appreciation for
representing Weld County in a positive light, while generating excitement and
pride for fans and residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado, in recognition of the University of Northern Colorado
Men's Basketball Team, that Wednesday, April 25, 2018, be known as UNC Bears
Day.
