Katie indicated during conversations with the State, there may be unspent funds or cost underruns for other project in the State. the Recommendation is for us to write a letter and send to the State to request additional funding for our match dollars for the CR 53 Bridge Project. In our original grant application, we requested $1,421,875.00,the state awarded us $333.085.00 in Jan of 2017. The attached letter explains the remaining match requirement and the request for additional funding. I have communicated with Don Warden, Barb Connolly, Jay McDonald and Elizabeth Relford. Don is recommending we send the letter. Please keep in mind by just sending the letter does not guarantee us the funding, if funding becomes available the State will notify us Attached are a copies of the original application and the letter we received for the award in 2017 What options exist for the Board? (include consequences,impacts,costs,etc. of options): Sign the letter and send to the Mitigation office at DHSEM Don't sign the letter. Currently, both the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program(CDBG-DR)are contributing funds to this project.The total contract amount is $7,918,861.55 with FHWAs total contribution being approximately $5,992,307.95 and CDBG-DRs current contribution being $333,085.00. Thus, Weld County is expecting to have a local match of approximately $1,593,468.60 for the EM-BR53-58A Bridge Replacement Project. Hi Guys, I JUST got off the phone with the State regarding the CDBG-DR match for 53/58A. As you all know they provided a small contribution to our local match totaling$333,085.00.To date, we have submitted reimbursements and received almost all of what was allocated. I reached out to the State to begin the closeout process and they informed me that they would like to keep the project open.They believe there is a potential for additional CDBG-DR funding to become available over the next couple of months and if it does 53/58A is first project on their priority list to receive the additional funding.The State emphasized that additional funding is not available yet BUT they are hopeful. If we are interested in leaving the project open and receiving the additional CDBG-DR funding should it become available,we will need to submit a request for additional funding to the State. I have a request for additional funding template and could put something together for the County quickly and get it over to you all for signatures. Let me know if you all would like to proceed.
