RE: APPOINTMENT OF MARION RICHTER, SAM FLETCHER AND WAYNE SMYTH
TO THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE BOARD OF APPEALS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Building Code of Weld County requires that the
membership of said Board include an electrician certified by the
State of Colorado and a master plumber certified by the State of
Colorado, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended to the Board of County
Commissioners that Marion Richter of Richter Plumbing and Heating
and Sam Fletcher of Fletcher Electric be appointed to serve two (2)
year terms on said Board expiring December 31, 1980 , and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Wayne Smyth, Weld
County Engineer, be appointed to fill the unexpired term of
Frank Smith, said term to expire on December 31 , 1979 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that Marion Richter and Sam
Fletcher be, and hereby are, appointed to membership on the
Uniform Building Code Board of Appeals for two (2) year terms
to expire on December 31, 1980.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Wayne Smith be,
and hereby is , appointed to membership on the Uniform Building
Code Board of Appeals to fill the unexpired term of Frank Smith,
said term to expire on December 31, 1979.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 20th day of
December, A.D. , 1978.

subject: Uniform Building Code Board of Appeals
Joe Jarvis brought to our attention a change in the makeup of the
Uniform Building Code Board of Appeals brought about when the
Building Code was adopted. The Code requires that the Board of
Appeals be made up of (7) members instead of the current five.
It also requires that the membership include "an electrician
certified by the State of Colorado," and "a master plumber
certified by the State of Colorado." Joe has recommended, and
I have contacted, the following individuals:
Marion Richter of Richter Plumbing and Heating
Sam Fletcher of Fletcher Electric
Both gentlemen have indicated their willingness to serve on
the Board of Appeals. In addition, Wayne Smyth should be
appointed to replace Frank Smith on this board.
In order that all terms do not expire the same year, I would
suggest that Mr. Richter and Mr. Fletcher be appointed to two-year
terms, to expire December 31, 1980. Wayne Smyth's term would
expire December 31, 1979, as did Frank Smith's.

December 20th Board Meeting for your action.
