To address the pressing need, Weld County has begun to actively recruit foster families who are willing and able to step up for our most vulnerable youth needing a safe, patient, and nurturing family environment. 2. Keeping children and teens in Weld County matters. Providing children and teens a safe, consistent and nurturing environment in their communities plays an essential role in a stronger healthier community. We have specified that we would like to recruit 18 families by the end of 2019 and 12 of those families would be willing to take children ages 8-18 with emotional, medical, and behavioral challenges. Colorado Department of Human Services SFY 19 Recruitment & Retention Innovation Fund Desired outcomes This video will be an effective tool to share our desired messages regarding the benefits and supports in fostering older children and teens, ages 8-18.
