Gentlemen:
One of my County Commissioners has called my attention a
picture and notation in the March 10 , 1975 , issue of
"County News , " showing the new county health department
building recently erected and completed specifically for
public health purposes. The newspaper states that the
cost of the building was $800 ,000 , funded entirely with
revenue-sharing moneys.
Washoe County is presently in the preliminary planning
stage of a county health building, expected to be approxi- -
mately of the size and nature of yours , and the County
Commissioners would be most interested in receiving from
you any pertinent information you may have concerning
square footage, a plan of the general plant and any other
information which you feel might be helpful to Washoe
County. It would be particularly interesting to know
what was the cost of construction per square foot.

Dear Mr. McDonald:
We have your letter of April 15th concerning the new Weld County Health
Building which was dedicated in January, 1975. The building has 25,562
gross square feet. The construction cost per square foot is $26.71 on
the building only and $27.86 including site development. This is a two
story structure with no basement. I am informed by our County Health
Director that the building has enabled their department to more efficiently
serve the public and expand their services with the existing staff.
Enclosed is a copy of the floor plan of the building. We would be happy to
have you or any members of your group visit us or if you desire we will
answer further questions.
