280 6th day of J anu ary A. D. 1907 term. Greeley, Colorado, Tuesday, January Sth, A. D. 1907 . Pursuant to adjournment of the 7th inst. the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County , Colorado met at 9 o ' clock a . m. with the following members present : Hon. R . W. DeVinny, Commissioner. Chas , Davis , Clerk. " S . A, Bradfield, Commissioner. By A. J , Luther, Deputy . E, J. Estes , Comomissioner. Hon. Chas . Davis having qualified as County Clerk and Recorder appeared as Clerk of the Board by his duly authorized deputy , A. J . Luther. Hon. E. J . Estes , County Commissioner-elect within and for Co:nnissioner' s District No . 2, having previously filed his official bond and oath of office and being present took his seat as a member of t he Board. IN THE MATTER OF ORGANIZATION, The Board then proceeded to organize and upon motion of Commissioner Bradfield, Commissioner DeVinny was duly elected Chairman for the ensuing year. IN THE MATTER OF ASSISTANT fL-- SUPERINTENDENT OF POOR. On motion Commissioner Bradfield was appointed Assistant Superintendent of poor for the ensuing year . ;.� if IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENT OF THREE ROAD O VERS EERS . On motion the following named gentlemen were appointed Road Overseer' s of thet respective districts , for the term of one year from this date, unless sooner removed by the Board, viz :-- D. Btrohl, Road Overseer For District No . 1. Hawley Dailey, Road Overseer for District No . 2. Prank Srdrs er, Road Overseer for District No. 3 . The clerk was directed to notify the above named, persons ' of their appointment and forward to each an official Bond in the penal sum of $2000 . to be filed as by 1 aw required. IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENT OF COUNTY ATTORNEY . On motion of Commissioner Bradfield and duly seconded by Commissioner Estes ;,r Mr . Delph E. Carpenter was appointed County Attorney for the year ending January 14, 19Gat a salary of $400 . per annum, p Er abl a qu art erly, and upon the same terms and conditions as last year. 281 _ _ _ _ _ IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENT OF J fiNITOR OF COURT HOUSE. The year for which the janitor, George H. Miller, was last hired being near at hand, and the Board recognizing in Mr. Mil. l er an efficient , aec`omodat ing and reliable employee, he having perforMed Ms duties and trusts as such janitor with entire Satisfaction to the Board and the other county officers about the building, and the Board believing it to be to the best interest of the county that he should be ratkined in s aid position, upon motion it was ordered that he be employed as janitor for the ensuing year,, and that his salary as such .janitor shall be Sixty WO ) per month. IN THE METE OF APPOINTMENT OF SUPERINTENDENT OF COUNTY HOSPITAL. The expiration of the terM of Mr . John Knutson as superinten- dent of the County Hospital being at an end, and the Board recognizing in him one of the most painstaking, saving and reliable employee in the service of the county , he having performed his duties and trusts with commendable satisfaction to this Board and to all parties -interested t herein, and the Board believing in se-curing the most competent' of employees , it was on motion ordered that he be retained in said_ position for the ensuing year, and that his salary shall be sixty ($60 ) Dollars per month. IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENT OF COUNTY PHYSI CTAN S , On motion the following named gentlemen were appointed County Physicians and Health officers of their respective districts , for the term of one year from this date, unless sooner removed by the Board, ' `Dr. C Dyde, Commissioner' s District No . 1 . J It Wolfe came before the , Board and stated that the N. E. of section 1g, Tp . 7N. , R . 57 West is now held by Weld County under tax sale certificate No . 1064 and that he desired to purchase the interest of the County in said property and offered to pay the sum of $37 .S2 therefor. L 297 Upon investigating the matter it was found that said property was sold to Weld County in 1896 of for the taxes of prior years and in 1896 Treasurer' s Tax Sale Certificate No . 1064 was issued to Weld County t herefor; that. said property is still held by Weld County by virtue of said cer- tificate; that in consequence of said property being held by said Weld County no taxes have been collected thereon since the issuance of. said certificate and in order to place said property back upon Ahe tax rolls it was thought best to ' dispose of the same . A communication just received from John Smithena of Lena , Wisconsin, saying that he was the owner of Lot 4 , Block 2 , North Greeley; that he held the tax receipts showing all payments thereon, for the years 1893 to 1906 inclusive ; that his attention had just been called to the fact that in 1894 said property had been doubly assessed and was sold for taxes in 1895 making a cloud upon the title to said property and requested that said erroneous sale be corrected---was presented to the Board when the following action was taken and entered of record , to-wit : -- After carefully considering same and making a thorough investigation of the records it was found that the writer had correctly stated all facts , and knowing said erroneous assessment to be a cloud upon the title to said land it was thought best to correct the same ; on motion duly made and carried the clerk was directed to draw a warrant to the County Treasurer in the sum of 320 $2 .75 and in return the County Treasurer is hereby authorized and empowered to issue the proper redemption certificate therefor .
