RE: ADOPTION OF THE 1978 STATE HIGHWAY RECOMMENDATIONS .
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado has recommended the needed State Highway projects
in Weld County, as more fully set forth on the attached, which
is incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners' recommendations
are based on a needs study of the State Highway system in Weld
County, and
WHEREAS, all projects listed on the attached map are deemed
important to the needs of Weld County by its communities. Be-
cause Weld County is aware of the limitations which the State
Highway Department faces due to finances, resources , time and
priorities, Weld County has listed only those requests of
immediate need and prime importance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the 1978 State High-
way Recommendations, as more fully set forth on the attached
map, be, and hereby are, adopted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 23rd day of
January, A.D. , 1978.

• NEEDED STATE HIGHWAY PROJECTS
PROPOSED IN WELD COUNTY
INTERSTATE PROJECTS
1 . Construct Interstate 76 to interstate standards. Our special emphasis is on the portion between Barr Lake and
Hudson.
PRIMARY PROJECTS
1. Construction funds for U.S. 34, East of Kuner to 1-76 at Wiggins. (Safety Factor rating 0-50, Design Capacity rating
0-50, and Structural Adequacy 70-79). Goal 1 & 2 & 3.

2. Rebuild Colorado 14, East, between Buckingham and Rayrner. Colorado 14 from Larimer County line to East 6
miles needs to be upgraded. (Safety Factor rating 0-35 and Design Capacity rating 0-50). Goal 1 & 2 & 4 & 5.
3. Complete four lane U.S. 85 between Ault and Pierce (total of 21,220 students/month transported on U.S. 85 or
total of 190,980 students/year). (Safety Factor rating 0-35 and Structural Adequacy rating 70-79).
4. Funds for engineering, right of way and construction within the city limits of Greeley of U.S. 34 Business Route
from 35th Avenue to 47th Avenue. Goal 1 & 2.
5. Preliminary engineering study on U.S. 34 by-pass at 8th Avenue, 11th Avenue and 17th Avenue. Goal 1 & 2.
6. Interchange construction hinds at U.S. 34 by-pass and 35th Avenue. Goal 1 & 2.
7. Safety — Structure North of LaSalle on U.S. 85. (Changes at piers and shire cracks). Goal 1.
SECONDARY PROJECTS
1. Continuation of upgrading Colorado 392, East of Windsor to U.S. 85. Upgrading of intersection of Colorado 392
and U.S. 85. (Safety Factor rating 0-35, Design Capacity rating 0-50). Goal 1.
2. Study, acquisition of right of way and upgrading of Colorado 392 to a four lane between Windsor city limits and
County Road 15. Goal 1 & 2.
3. Continue construction of Colorado 392 northeast of Barnesville to Briggsdale. (Cooperative construction effort
between Weld County and State of Colorado).
