Safety Features of the Crude Terminal
• Remote monitoring (SCADA) and automatic shutdown systems.
• Safety relief valves to prevent overpressure.
• Multiple redundant safety systems, including manual shutdowns.
• Electrically grounded equipment.
• Comprehensive safety training program.
• Detailed emergency response plan. All affected jurisdictions supplied
copies.
• Discovery works directly with local fire district representatives
regarding emergency response scenarios.

Environmental: Emissions & Noise
• State of Colorado air permit required.
✓ Some of the most stringent requirements in the country.
✓ Regular emissions testing.
✓ Routine maintenance and inspections.
• The station would meet state and local rules for public noise in an
industrial zoned area.
• Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plan.
• Tankage set on pads to provide added leak detection methods.
• Floating internal roof designed to minimize emissions and reduce vapors.
