RE: DISPOSITION OF SHERIFF 'S VEHICLE - 1977 DODGE, IDENTIFICATION
NUMBER DK41T7D206914 .
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, it has been requested by the Weld County Sheriff ' s
Office that a wrecked 1977 Dodge that is presently being stored
at Gow' s Auto Body Shop, be disposed of, and
WHEREAS , the Sheriff ' s Department has utilized numerous
items off said vehicle and its value is now minimal, and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff ' s Department has recommended to the
Board that title be transfered to Mr. Gow for the vehicle, minus
the engine, in lieu of payment of storage fees, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado has determined that it is in the best interest of Weld
County, Colorado that title for said 1977 Dodge be transfered to
Mr. Gow of Gow' s Auto Body Shop in lieu of payment of storage fees .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that transfer of the title
for a 1977 Dodge, Identification Number DK41T7D206914, minues the
engine, to Mr. Gow of Gow' s Auto Body Shop in lieu of payment of
storage fees, be and hereby is , approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 17th day of
May, A.D. , 1978 .

RE: Vehicle at Gow's
I would like to obtain a disposition on the 1977 vehicle at Gow's.
The vehicle is the one that Deputy Tipton wrecked last year. Mr. Gow
wanted to take off any parts of value and have the vehicle taken to a
junk yard.
The majority of parts will not help us, because of the body style
change in the 1978 vehicles. We have utilized numerous items off of
this vehicle and its value at this time is minimal.
I would recommend that Mr- Gow be given the vehicle minus the
engine, for the time he has stored the vehicle in his lot. Your
immediate attention to this matter will be appreciated.

RE: Vehicle at Cow's
On May 3, 1978 I contacted Paul Cow who estimated that Anderson's
Salvage would pay $100.00 for the wrecked vehicle. The engine and
transmission have been pulled out of the vehicle already. Therefore,
I feel the $100.00 figure is high.
If you compute storage charges at $1.50 a day for outside
storage it would amount to $540-00 for a year.

Sir,
I would request that the Sheriffs office consider the possibility
of keeping unit 431 and utilizing parts of it for repairs on the
other seven vehicles that we own. The two bids that were turned in
do not reflect what the vehicle would be worth to use in salvagable
parts, when one of our vehicles break down.
