Track and Field Championships in Lakewood at Jefferson County Stadium
May 17, 18 and 19, 2018; and
WHEREAS, utilizing a team effort, the Huskies had two first -place finishes in the
100 -meter and 200 -meter dash, a second -place finish in the 4 by 100 -meter
relay, a second -place finish in the long jump, a fifth -place finish in the 100 -meter
hurdles, two top -five finishes in the triple jump, a fifth -place finish in the shot
put; and
WHEREAS, with a final team score of 75.5, Highland captured the first -ever track
and field championship in school history; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Commissioners in Weld
County, Colorado that in recognition of the tremendous accomplishment of the
Highland Huskies girls track team, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 be known as
Highland Huskies Day.
