HOUSING AUTHORITY
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
MARCH 26, 2018
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing
Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Administration Building, Greeley, Colorado, March 26, 2018, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Steve Moreno, Chair
Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer, Pro -Tern
Commissioner Sean P. Conway
Commissioner Julie A. Cozad
Commissioner Mike Freeman
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Stephanie Frederick
Controller, Barbara Connolly
El MINUTES: Commissioner Conway moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board
meeting of February 26, 2018, as printed. Commissioner Cozad seconded the motion, and it carried
unanimously.
In response to Commissioner Conway, Tom Teixeira, Executive Director of the Greeley -Weld
Housing Authority, presented a brief summary concerning the Habitat for Humanity project in Hill -N -Park.
He stated Greeley Habitat for Humanity will reach out to the homeowners who need their homes repaired
and the Greeley -Weld Housing Authority will provide the necessary materials and pay for contractor
services. He stated they are also looking into using grant funds to buy lots and build some Habitat for
Humanity homes. Commissioner Cozad announced there will be a work session next week and she will
present to the Board details from the meetings with Habitat for Humanity and other partners about the
neighborhood revitalization in Hill -N -Park. Commissioner Conway thanked Mr. Teixeira for working with
Habitat for Humanity and expressed his appreciation to Commissioner Cozad for her leadership
concerning this project.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
