HOUSING AUTHORITY
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
JUNE 25, 2018
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing
Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Administration Building, Greeley, Colorado, June 25, 2018, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members
were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Steve Moreno, Chair
Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Sean P. Conway
Commissioner Julie A. Cozad
Commissioner Mike Freeman
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Stephanie Frederick
Controller, Barbara Connolly
12 MINUTES: Commissioner Conway moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board
meeting of May 30, 2018, as printed. Commissioner Freeman seconded the motion, and it carried
unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
12 Tom Teixeira, Executive Director of the Greeley Housing Authority, stated he met with Habitat for
Humanity about the Hill -n -Park project. He stated Habitat for Humanity is going to be the general
contractor, seeking homes which need to be rehabilitated, and the Greeley Housing Authority Board will
provide funding from the CDBG funds. He stated the loans will be 3% and some will be deferred. He
explained Habitat for Humanity will conduct a survey of the potential homes which need repairs and will
contact homeowners letting them know what is available to them. In response to Commissioner Conway,
Mr. Teixeira stated they have been waiting for six (6) months to receive the funds from the State.
Commissioner Cozad stated the first meeting was well attended and she and Habitat for Humanity plan
to meet with the area seniors to help with remodel projects to keep them in their homes longer. There will
be a County -wide event July 14, 2018, to fix up the basketball court and park in the Hill -n -Park
subdivision.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
