About Compressor Stations DISCOVERY MIOSTPERM PAPTNEPS 9 Importance of Compressor Stations I I I Compression is the heart of natural gas processing, and it is necessary for every stage of our midstream project. Compressor stations give natural gas a needed "boost", helping it get from one point to the next. ✓ Natural gas is compressed as it travels through pipelines, allowing it to continue to flow to its eventual destination. Additional equipment at compressor stations includes separators and filtration and dehydration equipment to remove liquids, dirt, particles and other impurities.
