the Class 4A State Championships May 18 and 19 at the Air Force Academy in
Colorado Springs; and
WHEREAS, the Wizards had many strong performances in the finals, including
three top -five finishes in the 100 -yard backstroke, a second -place finish in the
200 -yard medley, a fifth -place finish in the 1Q0 -yard butterfly and a fifth -place
finish in the 500 -yard freestyle; and
WHEREAS, in second place heading into the final event, Windsor finished fifth in
the 400 -yard freestyle propelling the team to a first -place finish overall, and
WHEREAS, the Wizards earned the first boys swimming and diving championship
in school history, and their coach Trevor Timmons was named Class 4A
Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year by the Colorado High School Swim
Coaches Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, in recognition of the history -making _ performance of the
Windsor Wizards Boys Swimming and Diving Team at the state championships,
that Wednesday, Jime 20, 2018, be known as Windsor Wizards Day.
