Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment Second Floor Hearing Room 210 The Weld County Board of Health met August 28, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. in the second -floor hearing room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. Those present included: Board Members: Linda Kautz, Nicholas Berryman, Jim Rohn, Fred Hepner, Tim Annable, James Kuemmerle Others: Lauren Light, Katie Sall, Alex Clemments, Environmental Health Services APPROVAL OF CHANGE TO AGENDA A motion was made by Tim Annable to approve agenda changes which includes an update on rabies and presenting the renewal biosolids before the new biosolids. Linda Kautz seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Fred Hepner to approve minutes as presented. Nick Berryman seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. BUSINESS New Biosolids — Veris Environmental, LLC Katie Sall presented application DS -1800009 for a new biosolid. Luke Bond, Veris Environmental, LLC was present. No public comments or concerns were received on these applications. A motion was made by Tim Annable to approve new biosolids application. James Kuemmerle seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. CONSENT ITEMS Biosolids Renewals — Veris Environmental, LLC Alex Clemments presented 14 biosolids renewals. No public comments or concerns were received. DS -200209, DS -200627, DS -200835, DS -200652, DS -200710, DS -200637, DS -200545, DS -201107, DS -201304, DS -201305, DS -1700010, DS -200840, DS -200841, DS -200502 A motion was made by Fred Hepner to approve biosolids renewals applications. James Kuemmerle seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. 0_Omrnoni c a+i ons 10/10/lg 2018-3237 PRESENTATIONS: Kristeen Bevel and Angela Crawford, Environmental Health Services. 2018 Rabies Update: • Weld County weekly rabies updates can be found on www.weldgov.com under Health and Environment under Animal Related Diseases. • So far, for 2018, there have been 21 exposures. Casey Vogt, Environmental Health Services, LLC Weld County School Inspections • 47 schools are inspected annually in Weld County Eric Aakko, Health Communication, Education & Planning 2016 Weld Community Health Survey Top 10 Takeaways 1. Overall health status of Weld County's adult population is mixed. 2. More Weld County residents (93%) had some type of health insurance in 2016. 3. Costs and scheduling barriers are still major barriers to accessing health care. 4. People are engaging in healthy behaviors but still room for improvement. 5. Residents are not immune to experiencing mental health conditions. 6. People do partake in risky behaviors of smoking and drinking. 7. About 10% of residents use marijuana. 8. Distracted driving is also a problem. 9. Health status varies by where we live, our income and education level. 10. Our environment matters too. A motion was made by Jim Rohn to adjourn the meeting.
