Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment Second Floor Hearing Room 210 The Weld County Board of Health met September 25, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. in the second -floor hearing room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. Those present included: Board Members: Chair; Joyce Smock, Vice Chair; Jim Rohn, Linda Kautz, Nicholas Berryman, Fred Hepner Others: James Taloumis, Lauren Light, Deb Adamson, Katie Sall Environmental Health Services Approval of agenda A motion was made by Jim Rohn to approve the agenda as presented. Linda Kautz seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. Approval of minutes A motion was made by Nick Berryman to approve minutes as presented. Jim Rohn seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. Business Veris Environmental, LLC — James Taloumis presented biosolids renewals, DS -200407, DS - 200639, DS -200714, DS -200818, DS -200822, DS -200912, DS -200913, DS -200914, DE - 201109. There were no public comments or concerns received on these applications. Metro Wastewater Reclamation — James Taloumis presented biosolids renewals, DS -200301, DS -200302, DS -200304, DS -200305, DS -200314, DS -200316, DS -200317, DS -200429, DS - 200430 A motion was made by Fred Hepner to approve renewal applications. Linda Kautz seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. Presentations: Dan Joseph, Environmental Health Services, gave a presentation on retail food establishment inspections. • In 2017, 2,759 food inspections were made in Weld County • Inspections include regular, follow-up and temp events • New food establishment inspections may take up to 2 hours • Inspections are generally unscheduled • Most establishments get inspected twice a year • Inspectors generally show up during operations; lunch, dinner CSlimmvn; co,--t-ions, SO/lO/(g 2018-3238 • Inspections may occur during the daytime, nights, weekends and holidays • Evaluations during inspections are focused on handwashing, employee health, temperatures, pest control, cleaning and sanitizing • Enforcement structure includes letters, civil penalties and minimum of six inspections • History of restaurant inspections may be found on weldgov.com and on w-ww.yelp.com Staff discussion: Lauren Light asked if Board of Health members are interested in a lab tour or presentation. Members responded they would like a lab tour. Jim Rohn commented he is interested in going on a food inspection with Dan Joseph. Nick Berryman asked about the status of Board of Health applicants. Lauren commented that we have one opening for school district RE -7. Lauren asked members to email her with names of people interested in applying.
