HomeMy WebLinkAbout20183011.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE EXPENDITURE AUTHORIZATION FOR VARIOUS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Expenditure Authorization for various Workforce Development Programs between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Employment Services of Weld County, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, commencing July 1, 2018, and ending June 30, 2019, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said expenditure authorization, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said expenditure authorization, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Expenditure Authorization for various Workforce Development Programs between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Employment Services of Weld County, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to sign said expenditure authorization. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 19th day of September, A.D., 2018, nunc pro tunc July 1, 2018. The funding streams, programs, and activities are subject to the laws and regulations of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Funds appropriated for Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth are provided pursuant to the master agreement, approved January 15, 2018 (CMS ID 2018-0190) Migrant Seasonal Farm Worker (MSFW) will deliver an array of services which include worker protection information, wage and working condition complaints, Workforce Center registration, employment referrals, job development, employer events and training program information flyers to migrant and seasonal farmworkers.
