RESOLUTION RE: ITEMIZED LIST OF LEGAL HOLIDAYS DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2020 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, following is a list of holidays proposed for 2020 as days off for Weld County employees: New Year's Day (2020) Wednesday, January 1, 2020 Washington/Lincoln Day Monday, February 17, 2020 Memorial Day Monday, May 25, 2020 Independence Day Friday, July 3, 2020 Labor Day Monday, September 7, 2020 Veterans Day Wednesday, November 11, 2020 Thanksgiving Thursday, November 26, 2020 Friday, November 27, 2020 (replaces King's Birthday) Christmas Thursday, December 24, 2020 (replaces Columbus Day) Friday, December 25, 2020 New Year's Day (2021) Thursday, December 31, 2020 (replaces Colorado Day) Friday, January 1, 2021 FLOATING HOLIDAYS: Sheriffs Department (Court Personnel) -- Will follow holiday schedule as set by State of Colorado. I've drafted the Resolution with my recommendation to use the Colorado Day Floating Holiday in conjunction with January 1, 2021; however, Tuesday May 26th or Tuesday September 8th would also be options.
