The Public Works Department recommends that the Board of County Commissioners award the washed rock
to J -2 Contracting for northern Weld County at a price of $28 . 00 per ton . We further recommend that Martin
Marietta be awarded the bid for southern Weld County at a price of $27 . 00 per tort . To minimize trucking
expenses , purchasing material from both vendors is cost effective .
The Public Works Department recommends that the bid for squeegee be awarded to Martin Marietta for
northern and southern Weld County at a price of $ 11 . 00 per ton . Martin Marietta is the low bidder for
squeegee .
The north and south division of Weld County for concrete is US Highway 34 due to the location of concrete
batch plants . Concrete Mobile Mix , LLC does not have a batch plant and uses four mobile trucks to mix and
pour concrete on -site . Mixing and pouring on-site is acceptable for smaller jobs , but not larger jobs such as
bridge projects where a large and constant flow of concrete is needed which cannot be handled by four mobile
trucks . Concrete would be ordered based on the size of the project and we recommend awarding the concrete
as follows :
` Concrete Mobile Mix , LLC — Exterior Class D for northern and southern Weld County at a cost of $ 120 . 00 per
yard ; Flowfill for northern and southern Weld County at a cost of $ 105 . 00 per yard .
Martin Marietta — Exterior Class O for southern Weld County at a cost of $ 142 . 00 per yard ; Pumpable Exterior
Class D for northern and southern Weld County at a cost of $ 142 . 00 per yard ; Flowfill for northern and
southern Weld County at a cost of $ 115 . 00 per yard .
A total of $ 116 , 500 is budgeted for this purchase .
