MINUTES Attendance: Barton A. Buss - Director of Management & Budget ,,.Norm Carlson - Commissioner Don Bower - Sheriff Dick Shockley - Undersheriff Andy Petruzzi - Director of Bldg. & Grounds Loren Bley - CNC/NHPQ Jerry Pope - H.P.C.C. Henry Baker - H.P.C.C. Jim Albertson - H.P.C.C. Richard Platt - H.P.C.C. I. PHASE II MODIFICATIONS A. HPCC was instructed to proceed with the installation of the two 5-gallon Acid Neutralizing Tanks. B. The addition of manual HVAC dampers to isolate cells was discussed. HPCC suggested exhausting all of the air to the exterior of the building. This would be in lieu of the additional dampers. Loren Bley is to check into this and other alternative solutions. He is to have a solution by March 10 for HPCC to have priced up by the next meeting. C. Loren Bley reported that the mechanical deduct proposal submitted by Economy is still being rev awed. He stated, however, that it is going to be approved. D. The Jail kitchen was discussed. The formal State review has not come back yet. They did call Loren Bley and gave about 6 items of concern. The major items of concern were the exhaust hood and the wall and floor finishes. Loren Brey suggested using Desco Glaztite on the walls and a seamless poured floor. HPCC suggested ceramic tile or Del-Tile Pebble finish for the walls and 6x6 quarry tile for the floor. Loren Bley is to have solutions for the kitchen worked out by March 18 for review. He is also to have samples of all proposed finishes at that time also. It was decided that due to these changes the kitchen will have to be put in Bid Package #6. E. Loren Bley reported that Powers, Zip Tube and Mosler will bid a one-tube pneumatic tube system as an alternate for the two-tube system in B.P. #5. F. Loren Bley presented manufacturers information on the laundry equipment. It was decided that the County would need a 75 lb. washer. Loren is to contact Eventide Nursing Home to see how they like their Wascomat equipment. He is also to see which brands have service available in Greeley. Loren Bley is to have a report by March 18. G. The mattress and pillow spec. has been written. H. The revised jail finishes were discussed briefly. Loren Bley stated that they are reflected in the B.P. #5 Finish Schedule. HPCC recommended against using the Desco Glaztite on the back cell walls and suggested using the special face block instead. The Sheriff said no, he wants some color in the cells. HPCC reminded everyone present of the findings of the Jail Visiting Committee which consisted of Jerry Pope, Glen Billings, John Haley and Barton Buss. They were: "That sealed concrete or sealed concrete block is the best." Loren Bley and the Sheriff insisted that we stay with Desco. We will stay with Desco. I. Loren Bley is to send a letter to Howard Electric immediately, instructing them to incorporate a 50 mesh screen onto the back of the cell intercom panel to protect the speaker. J. HPCC is to have a price impact ready for F.O. #6 by March 18. K. HPCC presented Folger Adam recommendations for stools and multi-use tables. It was decided that we will use Folger Adam #412 tables. Stools are still under consideration and will be discussed at March 18 meeting. L. Loren Bley is to issue an F.O. to complete room 128 entirely. M. Loren Bley and the Sheriff are to meet and resolve additional night entrance problems for action by next meeting. N. Special face block as specified and scheduled will be used at the exterior of the exercise yard which is behind the steel security screen. The block will have to ire sealed tgainst moisture penetration. II. - OLD WARRANTY ITEMS A. Dick Humphries is to write a letter to Price Business Interiors notifying them that they will be responsible for any personal injuries that any County employee should sustain as a result of the defective computer room floor panels. B. Loren Bley reported that B & G has told Jere Hamilton that they will stand behind the Phase I pumps. It was stated that HPCC has been paying the repair bills. Dick Humphries is to write a letter to Economy to obtain background and summary information including costs, for all repairs made to the Phase I pumps since installation. Upon receipt of this information, Dick is to write a letter to B & G with respect to their paying for these repairs. We need to get this thing nailed down as to whether it is a design problem or a manufacturers defect. NHPQ is to work on this as well as HPCC. — 2 — a . • III - PHASE I NEW WARRANTY ITEMS A. Henry Baker is going to notify Denver Hardware and Metropolitan Glass about door closer problems. B. The north main entrance door was discussed at great length. Metro-Glass • is abligated to make the doors right. Loren Bley has asked LCN representative to tome up but has gotten no response. Henry Baker is to contact Les Law of Metro-Glass to get the LCN man up here. IV - PHASE I - MODIFICATIONS A.
