Subject: Mead Grader Shed Design Services — Task Order
Weld County awarded on -call design services to four different vendors. There is a need for design services
for the Mead Grader Shed due to the previous vendor not being able to meet contractual obligations of
providing a buildable design. Robert Shreve Architects and Planners has used the labor rates identified in
their bid and quoted a lump sum of $16,240.00 to perform this design work to finish the deficient areas
that have been identified. An amendment to the contract to accomplish this work requires BOCC
approval.
Therefore, Buildings & Grounds is recommending approving this task order.

This proposal is in response to discussionstfothavetskenpla-zaxiigthepastvkeektegesdnjihecontract
cbctmentsiu IheMeadGraderShedFaafdy. It is our understanding that the County has terminated the
contract with Long and Company Architectural Design for the preparation of contract documents
for bidding and construction Mead Grader Shed Facility.
The County representatives have requested a proposal for architectural design and engineering
services as necessary to address the deficiencies outlined in a letter dated October 7, 2019.
I have asked G7, Consulting Engineers, inc. mechanical and electrical design firm, Galloway
structural engineering department and EJ Wernsman, civil engineer to provide fees for the
engineering design services for the project. These are the same firms that will be providing
the design services for the Truck Wash and Welding Building project in the Weld Industrial
Park and the Weld County Crime Lab Storage Facility.
The items outlined in the letter are architectural and structural in nature. At this time there
are no civil, mechanical, electrical or plumbing items that are required to be addressed.
Should items arise of a civil, mechanical, electrical or plumbing nature an addendum to
this proposal will be negotiate.
This fee proposal is for preparing an addendum set of documents that address the concerns
outlined in the October 9 letter. We understand that the addendum will be incorporated into
the existing plans and specifications prepared Long and Company.
The proposed cost for doing the design phase of the work is $16,240.00. The cost to review shop
drawings and normal construction contract administration are not included in this proposal however
$2,500.00 has been included to assist with responses to questions that arise during the bidding
and the construction of the project. Any additional work will require an amendment to the contract
