RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENTS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF NEWELL LAKE
DRAINAGE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Newell Lake Drainage District ("the District") was formed in 1964 and is
located entirely within Weld County, and
WHEREAS, two (2) vacancies currently exist on the District's Board of Directors, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §37-21-107, the Board of County Commissioners is
required to appoint Directors to fill the vacancies on said Board of Directors who shall hold such
offices until the District's next regular election, which is scheduled to occur in January, 2020, and
WHEREAS, the District notified its members of their opportunity to apply for appointment
to the Board of Directors and four (4) landowners applied, and
WHEREAS, after interviewing the four (4) applicants, the Board now deems it advisable
to appoint Daniel Stroh and Scott Owen to the District's Board of Directors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Daniel Stroh and Scott Owen, be, and hereby are, appointed to the Board
of Directors of the Newell Lake Drainage District, to hold such positions until new Directors are
elected and take office on said Board of Directors in January, 2020.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 23rd day of October, A.D., 2019.
