There is a need for design services for the Evidence Storage Addition at the Crime Laboratory. Robert Shreve Architects and Planners has used the labor rates identified in their bid and quoted a lump sum of $104,375.00 to perform this design work. An amendment to the contract to accomplish this work requires BOCC approval. This was presented and approved in a pass around dated 8-14-2019. In addition to that work described in section 2.1, the Parties may agree to additional work to be provided by Contractor pursuant to an appropriately executed Task Order, which shall be negotiated between the Parties on an as needed basis. Any such Task Order shall be signed by the Weld County Director of Buildings and Grounds before it shall be effective. In no event shall the total of all Task Orders exceed $25,000 in any calendar year unless first approved by the Board of County Commissioners. Any appropriately executed Task Order shall be automatically incorporated herein and enforceable. Scope of Task Order: 1. Design new addition to be constructed on West side of existing building, (crime lab) and be attached to the building. This addition will contain evidence storage and garage space. The new addition is expected to be approximately 6,000 square feet. 2. New building construction materials will match existing construction as closely as possible in appearance. 3. Addition is envisioned to be connected by at least one conditioned space breezeway. 4. All HVAC controls will be Delta Controls by SetPoint or Metasys by Johnson Controls 5. Sitework will need to include re -design of existing detention area and construction of new parking lot to the North of the existing building for vehicle impound storage. Existing parking areas and landscaped areas may be affected and will need to be renovated. You requested a proposal for architectural design and engineering services to prepared plans and Specification for an Evidence Storage Building adjacent to the Weld County Crime Lab located in High Point Industrial Park. I have asked G2, Consulting Engineers, Inc. mechanical and electrical design firm, Galloway structural engineering department and EJ Wemsman, civil engineer to provide fees for the engineering design services for the project. These are the same firms that will be providing the design services for the Truck Wash and Welding Building project in the Weld Industrial Park. During my discussion with Redge Hudson regarding the Evidence Building he informed me that Galloway had provided the structural design for the Roche buildings that are currently being erected to the south of the Crime Lab site. This fee proposal is for design and preparation of building bidding documents_ We understand that the project bidding will likely take place in the spring of 2020. Deliverables will include a set of civil, architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical systems drawings, with supporting technical specifications. A draft set of deliverables will be provided for review comments, which will be incorporated into the final deliverables. This project will not require a PUD submittal to the City of Greeley. The proposed cost for doing the design phase of the work is $83,245.00. The proposed cost for review shop drawings and construction contract administration is $21,130.00. It is expected there will be multiple project meetings and site visits by project architect during the construction phase. The total fee proposal is $104,375.00. Any additional work will require an amendment to the contract. Upon receipt of written notice or a contract, we will begin to prepare the appropriate documents.
