RE: Application for FY22-23 STBG Funding for Roundabout at WCR 74/33
Dear Ms. Mallette,
The Weld County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) supports our Department of Public
Works' Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) application to the North Front Range
Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO) for the FY2022-23 Call for Projects to construct a
roundabout at the intersection of WCR 74 and WCR 33. Likewise, the BOCC agrees to commit to
fund Weld County's share of the local match for the roundabout.
The roundabout project is currently programmed with $4.7 million in the County's Capital
Improvement Program (CIP). This is significantly higher than the allowable request for STBG
funding for the project, so the County commits to funding costs greater than any federal amount
awarded. The County can adjust the project development schedule to match federally available
funds for construction in either 2022 or 2023. Weld County will pay for all expenses incurred prior
to the availability of federal funding for this project.
The Weld County BOCC and staff are excited to partner with the Town of Eaton on this important
safety and mobility project. A letter from Eaton committing to their share of the local match is
included with the application.
