RE: GRANT REQUEST FOR SPEED ZONING TO 35 MPH ON MATHEWS AVENUE
AND TATE AVENUE BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROAD 6 AND WELD COUNTY
ROAD 8, COUNTRY ESTATES SUBDIVISION.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Engineering Services
has recommended to the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado that conditions exist which make it necessary
to post the speed limit on Mathews Avenue and Tate Avenue
between Weld County Road 6 and Weld County Road 8 at 35 mph to
insure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has studied the
recommendations of the Department of Engineering Services and
finds that it is necessary to speed zone said Avenues in Country
Estates Subdivision to 35 mph to insure safety to the traveling
public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the Board deems it
advisable and in the best interests of Weld County to regulate,
warn and guide traffic, as more fully stated above, and that
said traffic control devices are for the safety of the general
public and must further conform to the State Manual and specifi-
cations .
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 10th day of
September, A.D. , 1979 .

subject; Country Estates Letter of August 10, 1979
The letter requests speed signs on the roads.
Tate and Mathews are the only two streets in Country Estates accepted for
County Maintenance. They are each one mile long and each is a full connector
between Weld County Roads 6 and 8.
Since it has been our policy to speed zone subdivisions at the entrances from
County roads, it is recommended that 35 miles per hour speed signs be posted
in accordance with the attached drawing.
