RE: BLANKET APPROVAL TO UTILIZE PURCHASING FROM THE COLORADO SURPLUS AGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have adopted purchasing poli-
cies and purchasing procedures pursuant to the Weld County Home Rule Charter
and Colorado Statutes regarding the purchasing of goods and services required
for the operation of Weld County Government, and
WHEREAS, the policies and procedures for purchasing specify that the Board
must, by resolution, approve the acquisition of used materials, and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Surplus Agency exists for the purpose of stocking
surplus materials from other governmental agencies and sells these materials and
goods to other Colorado governmental agencies at a substantially reduced price,
and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of Weld County for certain operations of
Weld County to acquire goods and services at a reduced price from the Colorado
Surplus Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the purchasing agent and other county officials registered
with the Colorado Surplus Agency are hereby given blanket authority from the
Board of County Commissioners to acquire used and surplus property from the
Colorado Surplus Agency when it is in the best interest of Weld County.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 21st day of Febraury, A. D. , 1979.
