RE: Application for FY22-23 CMAQ Funding for Roundabout at WCR 74/31
Dear Ms. Mallette,
The Weld County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) supports our Department of Public
Works' Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ) application to the
North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO) for the FY2022-23 Call for
Projects to construct a roundabout at the intersection of WCR 74 and WCR 31. Likewise, the BOCC
agrees to commit to fund Weld County's share of the local match for the roundabout.
The roundabout project is currently programmed with $5.2 million in the County's Capital
Improvement Program (CIP). If awarded CMAQ funds, the County commits to funding all costs
above the federal amount, including cost overruns. Weld County will pay for all expenses incurred
prior to the availability of federal funding. The County can adjust the project development schedule
to match federally available funds for construction in either 2022 or 2023.
