Public Works has conducted a Best Value selection process to select a consultant to perform the Bridge
Design Engineering Services for the replacement of Bridge 54/13A. A selection committee comprised of
Don Dunker, Rob Turf, Matt Laporte, Michael Bedell, and Clay Kimmi reviewed and scored the three (3)
consultants that were previously short-listed after a review of their statements of qualifications. Attached
is a ranking summary which resulted from our review of submitted proposals.
A design fee amount of $502,772.00 has been submitted by J -u -B Engineers, Inc. (Fort Collins Office)
along with their scope of work. The primary aspect of this portion of the project is to perform bridge
design engineering services which will result in final bid documents to be used for construction.
It is Public Works Department recommendation to award a bridge designcontract to kil:LB..ticipstn,
inc. foy a total amount of S502,772.,00. This project is included as a line item in the 5 -year CIP, and it is
likely that the new bridge will be significantly wider than the existing bridge to account for anticipated
future traffic growvth.

Public Works has conducted a Best Value selection process to select a consultant to perform the Bridge
Design Engineering Services for the replacement of Bridge 19/46.5A. A selection committee comprised
of Don Dunker, Rob Turf, Matt Laporte, Michael Bedell, and Clay Kimmi reviewed and scored the three
(3) consultants that were previously short-listed after a review of their statements of qualifications.

A design fee amount of $499,723.00 has been submitted by J -U -B Engineers, Inc. (Fort Collins Office)
along with their scope of work. The primary aspect of this portion of the project is to perform bridge
design engineering services which will result in final bid documents to be used for construction.
It is Public Works Department recommendation to award a bridge design contract to J -U -B Engineers,
Inca for a total amount of $499,72100. This project has a CDOT-administered grant in the amount of
$500,000.00 and the associated IGA was signed by the BOCC Chair on 6/24/2019.

Public Works has conducted a Best Value selection process to select a consultant to perform the Bridge
Design Engineering Services for BR64/39A. A team comprised of Don Dunker, Rob Turf, Matt Laporte,
Mike Bedell, and Clay Kimmi reviewed and scored the three (3) consultants that were shortlisted after a
review of the Request for Proposals. See attached ranking summary.
A final fee amount of 5394,030.00 has been submitted by Felsburg, Molt, & Ullevig, along with their final
scope proposal. The primary aspect of this portion of the project is to perform bridge design engineering
services which will be incorporated into the final project drawings for the CR 64 and CR 41 Intersection
project.
The engineer's estimate for the bridge design was approximately 5400,000. The proposed cost of
$394,030.00 is within the estimated. budget.
It is our recommendation to award the bridge design contact for BR64/39A to Felsburg, bolt, and
Ul1evis. for a total amount of $394,030000. Weld County Public Works Department has worked
successfully with. this Consultant on past projects and believes the design contract amount is reasonable.
