Dear Chris,
I am writing to bring to your attention some concerns I have regarding Case # USR19e00 7 for
the applicantCarver Landscape Company. I reside on the southside of the property under review
at the address 39470 County Road 29 and have lived at that location for 29 years. I am the
property's closest neighbor. First of all, when the owner began using the property for his
operations around 2002.•2003, 1 initially thought that the nature of the business (a landscaping
company) would mean that the property would be taken care of and even improved upon. That
has not been the case since the beginning. Historically, he has not kept up with the general
presentation and wellbeing of the property. Concerns include excessive weeds that neglect to be
controlled and general landscape materials/wastes being left in piles strewn all over the property
in an unattractive manner. In addition to those concerns, in the recent past, the owner has
allowed people to live either inside the main building or in an BY or camper on the property,
sometimes for periods of more than a year. Since the property is being utilized for business
operations, I do not believe that it should be used in a residential manner in any way, The
business that owned the property prior to Carver Landscape Company was Rocky Mountain Pork
Association. The owners and employees at that time made significant efforts to ensure that the
property was always taken care of exceptionally well, with weeds consistently kept under control
and the property overall being utilized and presented in a professional manner in accordance with
its operations.
Furthermore, I am worried that the owner will take the necessary steps now, to attain proper
upkeep of the property while his application is under review but will eventually let it fail back
into disarray once he is no longer under this evaluation. I am hoping that the owner wilt continue
to make efforts to maintain the propel in the future and not just while he is under this review.
Finally, I am concerned that the property is kept neat and presentable not only for aesthetic
reasons but also for the practical reason of fire safety. A property that is welt -maintained presents
a much lower risk of becoming a fire hazard.
