RE: CONSENT TO AGRICULTURAL LANDS INCLUDED INTO ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF DACONO - DACONO II URBAN RENEWAL AREA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Town of Dacono ("Dacono") has provided to the Board two documents;
the first is entitled, "Dacono II Urban Renewal Plan - Weld County Impact Report, Dacono,
Colorado," and is dated October 31, 2019, and the second is entitled, "Dacono Area Urban
Renewal Plan City of Dacono, Colorado," and is dated November 1, 2019 ("the Proposed Plan"),
and
WHEREAS, on or about December 16, 2019, the City of Dacono City Council (Dacono
City Council") will consider adopting the Proposed Plan, and
WHEREAS, the boundaries of the Urban Renewal Area within the Proposed Plan
encompass various lands listed as "agricultural" in the property classifications in Office of the
Weld County Assessor ("Agricultural Lands"), and
WHEREAS, the Agricultural Lands are located such that urban development thereon is
both practicable and desirable, and
WHEREAS, there must be compliance with the consent requirements of C.R.S. §31-25-
107(1)(c)(II)(D), before the Dacono City Council may include the Agricultural Lands into the area
which is described in the Proposed Plan, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements of C.R.S. §31-25-107(1)(c)(II)(D), the Board of
County Commissioners wishes to provide its consent to the inclusion of Agricultural Lands into
the Urban Renewal Area as described in the Proposed Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Board hereby consents to the inclusion of the Agricultural Lands into
the Urban Renewal Area as described Proposed Plan which will be considered for adoption by
the Dacono City Council on or about December 16, 2019.
