Brief description of the problem/issue:
The original agreement for the Precast Concrete Product Contract can be extended from March 28, 2019 to
March 27, 2020 as permitted by the contract. This extension would be in the second year of a possible three-
year term limit. The contract also allows for yearly rate adjustments based upon the current EngineeringNew-
Record (ENR) price for Reinforced Concrete Pip; which was a 5.42% increase from January 2018 to January
2019. Old Castle Precast is not requesting a cost increase for 2019. The 2018 bid summery will remain the
same as on the original 2018 contract.
The budget amount in 2019 for this contract is $525,136.00 in account 32300-6250 for inventory stock items.
Precast Concrete Product purchases will remain within budget limits. Contract price will remain the same as the
2018 bid schedule. Old Castle Precast was awarded this contract in 2018 as the low bid contractor and the
department has been satisfied with their product.
What options exist for the Board? (include consequences, impacts, csts, etc® of options):
The Board may either approve or deny the contract renewal/extension.
Recommendation:
Public Works recommends a.ppioval for Old Castle Precast under the Precast Concrete Product contract.

CONTRACT AGREEMENT EXTENSION/RENEWAL BETWEEN
THE WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND OLD CASTLE PRECAST
This Agreement Extension/Renewal „
Ag eernent ("Renewal"), ), made and entered into day of _ .019, by and between the
Board of Weld County Commissioners, on behalf of the Weld County Department of Public Works, hereinafter referred to as the
"Department", and Old Castle Precast, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor".
WHEREAS the parties entered into an agreement on March 28, 2018 (the "Original Agreement"), identified as document
#81800080 / On Base contract #1291
WHEREAS the parties hereby agree to extend the term of the Original Agreement in accordance with the terms of the
Original Agreement, which is incorporated by reference herein, as well as the terms provided herein.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the parties hereto covenant and agree as follows:
• The Agreement will end on March 27, 2019.
The parties agree to extend the Original Agreement for an additional 1 year, which will begin March 28, 2019, and will end
on March 27, 2020.
The Renewal, together with the Original Agreement, and the 2019 Fee Schedule constitutes the entire understanding
between the parties. The following change is hereby made to the Contract Documents:
1. The 2018 Fee Schedule of the original contract will remain in effect for 2019 Fee Schedule, which is attached as exhibit A and
incorporated by reference.
• All other terms and conditions of the Original Agreement remain unchanged.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have duly executed the Agreement as of the day, month, and year first above written.

be awarded to Oldcastle Precast, the lowest bidder. This is a one year contract with the possibility of two
additional one year extension periods.
Approximately $80,000 has been budgeted for this purchase.
