RE: APPROVAL OF THE CITY OF GREELEY VARIANCE APPLICATION FOR
THE WELD COUNTY LIBRARY EXPANSION, AND AUTHORIZATION FOR
CHAIRMAN TO SIGN THE SAME.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has been in-
formed by the contractor for the expansion of the Weld County
Library that the setback for the parking area is in conflict
with the City of Greeley Zoning Code of 1976, and
WHEREAS, the real estate referred to above is owned by
the City of Greeley and Weld County is the improvement owner,
and
WHEREAS, in order to satisfy the requirements of the City
of Greeley, the contractor has requested the Board of County
Commissioners to approve the application to the City of Greeley
Board of Appeals, and
WHEREAS, after taking into consideration all facts pre-
sented to the Board of County Commissioners, said Board deems
it advisable and in the best interest of Weld County to approve
said application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners that the aforementioned application to Zoning
Board of Appeals for the City of Greeley, be, and hereby is,
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Board that the Chairman
is authorized to sign said application regarding expansion of
the Weld County Library.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 19th day of

STATEMENT OF SITUATION AND CONDITIONS
Part of application dated December 141 1977
to Zoning Board of Appeals
Weld County - by resolution of the Weld County Commissioners,
dated October 19, 1977 - will enlarge its existing library
facility located on City of Greeley property, 2227 23th Avenue
Greeley, Colorado.
The proposed expansion will be a one-story structure containing
approximately 18,000 square feet.
Due to the location and building lay-out of the existing library
facility and the program and building requirements of the proposed
addition an exceptional building location exists.
The following apparent conflicts do exist with the Greeley Zoning
code of 1976:
1. The side yard setback is 11-0" +. (refer to section 23-305 a:
"Yards adjacent to more restrictive zones") .
2. Some parking areas are located in the front yard (refer to
section 23-306 a: "Structures permitted in required front
yards").
The front yard parking area will be screened substtantiallylfally rom
23th Avenue by means of an 18 feet deep landscaped g

The yard area to the north of the new facility will also be
landscaped (for a total depth of 40' +).
The applicant respectfully proposes that the intent and purposes of
the zoning code are met and that the proposed library addition be
approved.
