HomeMy WebLinkAbout780578.tiff July 20, 19733 Ed Dunbar, Chairman Board of County Commissioners Centennial Center 915 10th Street Greeley, Colorado 30631 Commissioner Dunbar: We would like to respond to the letter that you received on July 14, 1973, from Mr. Sherman Neilson, Human Resources Committee Chairman, regarding his statement that "if the (YSB) grievances are not presented to the Personnel Grievance Board then it will be assumed that they are not of substance". In our letter to the County Commissioners of July 6, 1978, we stated that our "collective decision came about following extensive deliberation". During our deliberation we considered the possibility of filing our concerns with the County Personnel Grievance Board. Taking into account all facts involved, we chose to air our dissatisfaction the way in which we did. To be fair to ourselves and the members of the community, we chose to be open and honest about our resignations and the concerns that we and others shared. This is where our intent and our action rests. We disagree with Mr. Neilson that it is our responsibility to further pursue this "grievance" if it is to have substance. Rather, we feel that it is now up to you and your fellow Commissioners to investigate further if you so desire. If our failure to file a grievance with the County Personnel Grievance Board means that no further attention will be paid to this matter, then that will be the choice of the County government.
