HOVEL. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, are vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, a public meeting was held on the 23rd day of March, 1977 in the Chambers of the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, for the purpose of hearing the petition of Roger L. Development Standards SUP 301 :76:6 1 . The confined hog farrowing and finishing operation on the hereon described parcel located in part of the Southwest Quarter (SW4) of Section 31 , Township 8 North, Range 65 West of the 6th P.M. , Weld County, Colorado, shall be limited to the facilities shown which are designed to handle approximately 100 sows and gilts, 7 boars, 800-1000 baby pigs, and 800-1000 feeders. 2. The Special Use Permit area shall be maintained in such a manner as to prevent the growth of noxious weeds, fugitive dust, and e.,I erosion. 3. Water shall be supplied by well which shall meet the approval of the State Engineer. 4. The sewage system for the hog operation shall consist of a pit and and pump. All sewage disposal facilities installed on the site shall conform with all applicable Weld County and State Health Regulations. 5. There shall be no discharge into streams, other bodies of water, or adjacent drainage systems. An application for a discharge permit shall be filed with the Water Quality Control Division of the Colorado Department of Health prior to any building permits being _ ,used. Proof of the granting of such a permit shall be forwarded to the Weld County Planning Commission within thirty days of issuance of the discharge permit. 6. All buildings shall be set back a minimum of twenty feet from the Special Use Permit area boundary. 7. Access shall be limited to the one existing point as shown hereon. 8. Building permits shall be secured prior to the construction of the structures to be located on the Special Use Permit area. 9. Construction will begin within one year of approval by the Board of County Commissioners. 10. The Special Use Permit shall be limited to the plans submitted and governed by the development standards stated above. There will be approximately 2,000 finished nods produced by this operation in a years time. 1 will be the owner and manager of the operation and will not have to hire any additional help. The buildings will consist of a farrowing-nursery unit and a finishing build- ing. They will have partially slatted concrete floors. The sla;s will sit over concrete pits, 4 feet wide and 4 feet deep. The wastes from thc animals will be punned into a tank and spread on surrounding farm land. ihis netnod of disposing of animal waste works very well in several respects. It eliminates the chance of polluting any nearby water, whether it be domestic or irrigation. It also nelps ccntroll air polution oecause all the wastes are gathered in a snail area. insect breeding can also be controlled with this method. The traffic caused by this operation will consist of one delivery feed truck once a week and one pickup and trailer taking hogs to market approximately every ten days. The water for the operation will be supplied by a well, which is registered with the state.
