- WHEREAS, the Highland Huskies girls track team competed at the Class 2A Track %-
and Field Championships in Lakewood at Jefferson County Stadium May 16, 17 and
V 18, 2019; and ,
,� `` _ WHEREAS, throughout the three-day event, several strong performances enabled f
Highland's slim lead over second-place Lyons High School to grow; and J. t,44

- -c WHEREAS, the Huskies had first-place finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter
dash, a top-five finish in the 400-meter dash, a second-place finish in the
" 4x400-meter relay, a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter relay and a sixth-place
' finish in the 4x800-meter relay. Highland also finished first in the high jump and

WHEREAS, the team's performance throughout the meet led to Highland medaling r:''I

tr‘, in 16 events, breaking four school records and setting a new 2A state meet record r
in the 100-meter dash. Those accomplishments helped the Huskies finish with 100 I ` , x
