HomeMy WebLinkAbout20193684.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE TITLE VI PLAN FOR CDOT/FHWA SUBRECIPIENTS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Title VI Plan for CDOT/FHWA Subrecipients from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Resources and the Department of Public Works, to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), commencing upon full execution of signatures, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said plan, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Title VI Plan for CDOT/FHWA Subrecipients from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Resources and the Department of Public Works, to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) be, and hereby is, approved. CDOT's Civil Rights & Business Resource Center (CRBRC) is responsible for monitoring local agencies that receive federal funds from CDOT for compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The CRBRC requires the survey as a means to assess the current level of compliance and technical assistance needs. This plan was jointly developed with Elizabeth Relford (PW), Karin McDougal (CA), Patti Russell, Michelle Raimer and Andrew Chadwick (HR) What options exist for the Board? Non -Discrimination Policy Statement It is the policy of Weld County that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in any operation of Weld County as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes. This policy specifically addresses the operations of Weld County Department of Public Works, including its contractors and anyone who acts on behalf of Weld County Department of Public Works.
