SUBJECT: 2019 Traffic Paint and Beads Bid, B1900039
The Public Works Department recommends the low bid from Vogel Paint and Wax be accepted for the yellow
and white traffic paint. The price for yellow traffic paint is $7.53 per gallon; the price for white traffic paint is
$8.41 per gallon. We would like to purchase traffic paint from one vendor. The total cost for yellow and white
traffic paint is $239,100.00.
The lowest bidder for glass beads was Ennis Flint. However, they indicated an all or nothing bid for both traffic
paint and beads. They were not the lowest bidder for the traffic paint. We therefore recommend the next low
bid from Brightlands Tech, Inc. be accepted for the glass beads at a price of $0.378 per pound. The total cost
for glass beads is $84,672.00.
