RE: DECLARE CERTAIN EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS PROPERTY, AUTHORIZE SALE OF
SAME TO LAS ANIMAS COUNTY, AND DELEGATE AUTHORITY TO CONTROLLER
TO SIGN ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, State statute and the Weld County Code require that all items disposed of be
declared surplus by the Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, the County has determined that certain equipment, described as two (2) 2014
White K-9 SUVs (VIN #s1 FM5K8AR1 EGA65252 and 1 FM5K8AR3EGA65253) equipped for the
Patrol vehicles, being more fully described in said proposal which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference, is no longer required for County use, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a proposal from Las Animas County, 2309
East Main Street, Trinidad, Colorado 81082, to buy said equipment for and in consideration of the
sum of $10,000.00, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to declare said equipment as surplus and
approve said proposal, and delegate authority to the Weld County Controller to sign any
necessary documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the abovementioned equipment be, and hereby is, declared surplus.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the proposal for Las Animas County's
purchase of said equipment in the amount of $10,000.00, be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the authority to sign any necessary
transfer documents, be, and hereby is, delegated to the Weld County Controller to sign as the
Agent for the Weld County Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado.

SUBJECT: Surplus Vehicles
I have been contacted by Las Animas County Sheriffs Office. They need to replace of some of
their vehicles and are working on limited funds. David suppled information about vehicles we
have ready to go to auction. The attached letter is what they are offering for the purchase of 2 of
those vehicles. The price is reasonable.
I would not recommend a work session.

Dear Ms. Connolly,
In regard to the two Ford Interceptor patrol units that our agency was interested in
purchasing, we would like to propose a bid for both. For the 2014 white K-9 SUV, Vin
#1FM5K8AR1EGA65252, we would make an offer to purchase for $5000 for the 2014
white K-9 SUV, Vin #1FM5K8AR3EGA65253, we would make an offer to purchase for
$5000 as well for a total $10,000.
We appreciate the chance to acquire these patrol units as we are in great need, due to the
tragic traffic crash that lead to two of our patrol units being totaled out by our insurance
carrier and the loss of our Patrol Sergeant, Matthew Moreno.
