PROCLAMATION
WELD COUNTY ADOPTION DAY - NOVEMBER 22, 2019
NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY- NOVEMBER 23, 2019
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners recognizes the importance of
giving children and youth, who have suffered the impact of abuse and neglect, a
permanent, safe and loving families through adoption; and
WHEREAS, more than 40 children in Weld County are awaiting adoption through legal
permanency; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Human Service will hold a special
celebration on Friday, November 22nd (in association with National Adoption Day on
Saturday, November 23rd) to finalize the adoptions of local children and join other
organizations to celebrate all adoptions.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado does
hereby proclaim November 22, 2019, as Weld County Adoption Day, and
November 23, 2019 as National Adoption Day in this county, and in so doing, urge all
citizens to join in a national effort to raise awareness about the importance of child
welfare foster care and adoption.
