Subject: HVAC Design Services Plaza West — Task Order
Weld County awarded on -call design services to four different vendors. There is a need for design services
for Air Handler 7 in Plaza West due to being inadequately sized for the planned remodel for two new
courtrooms. Carin Design LLC has used the labor rates identified in their bid and quoted a lump sum of
$7,280.00 to perform this design work. The attached amendment to the contract to accomplish this work
requires BOCC approval.
Therefore, Buildings & Grounds is recommending approving this task order.

Note: Pursuant to the "Original Agreement", document No. 2019-2250 section 2.2- Additional
Task Order Work. In addition to that work described in section 2.1, the Parties may agree
to additional work to be provided by Contractor pursuant to an appropriately executed
Task Order, which shall be negotiated between the Parties on an as needed basis. Any
such Task Order shall be signed by the Weld County Director of Buildings and Grounds
before it shall be effective. In no event shall the total of all Task Orders exceed $25,000 in
any calendar year unless first approved by the Board of County Commissioners. Any
appropriately executed Task Order shall be automatically incorporated herein and
enforceable.
Scope of Task Order:
The project will involve full architectural and engineering design and construction
administration of the replacement of CU -7 & AHU-7 for the Weld County Courtrooms in the
Centennial Building in Greeley, CO.
1. Architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the project as
described in the attached Exhibit -Task Order 4-2019.
Contractor agrees to perform the services identified above and on the attached exhibit in
accordance with the terms and conditions contained herein and in the Original Agreement
between the parties.

RE: Weld County Courtroom HVAC Design Replace CU -7 and AHU-7- Architectural and
Engineering Services
In accordance with the fees identified in our bid, our not to exceed price for this on call work for
this project is $7,280.00.
Scope of Work:
The project will involve full architectural and engineering design and construction administration
of the replacement of CU -7 and AHU-7 for the Weld County Courtrooms in the Centennial
Building in Greeley, CO. Cairn Design, LLC will provide architectural and engineering design
under this agreement including:
Architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the project. The
project scope includes:
• Complete design and construction administration for a new condensing unit CU -7 and
AHU-7, and electrical as required for the new load as determined by the existing
courtrooms mechanical engineer. The mechanical engineer for the courtrooms is
responsible for providing all parameters necessary for the functionality of the system.
Scope of Services:
The scope of services included in this proposal are limited to the following:
• Field verification of existing dimensions and systems as they relate to the project.
• Coordination with the client as required to execute the scope of work.
• Coordination with the building department as required for the permit.
• Coordination and connection to existing duct work.
• Submissions: Schematic Design, Design Development, Final Design,and For Construction.
• Construction administration to include construction project meetings, RFIs, submittal and
shop drawing review and approval, and final construction walk-through and punch list.
Compensation:
Total Design Fee - Not to exceed $7,280.00

Changes in scope, additional trips to the site, or added services would be billed hourly identified
in the On -Call contract, unless a fixed fee is agreed to in advance for the specific service.
Reimbursable expenses, +1- $200 (mileage and printing services) invoiced at cost + 10%.
Exclusions:
• Design of any system not listed above.
• New or additional heating hot water generating systems.
• Design changes, layout changes, or value engineering requested by client or owner after the
final submission.
