PROCLAMATION
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT MONTH - SEPTEMBER 2019
KEEP COLORADO WORKING DAY - SEPTEMBER 5, 2019
WHEREAS, in Colorado, business is booming, and our economy has made us a
magnet for employers and one of the best performing states in the nation; and
WHEREAS, apprenticeships and internships are proven strategies to close the
skills gap, build self-esteem, and develop an alternative pathway to a rewarding
career; and
WHEREAS, employers depend on similar levels of professional services to help
them recruit and retain a competitive workforce and continually upgrade the skill
sets of their incumbent employees;
WHEREAS, Employment Services of Weld County, the Colorado Department of
Labor and Employment, and the Workforce Development Council are aligned
with educators, businesses, and economic developers to enhance regional
workforce development, expand apprenticeships, encourage more inclusive
hiring, and promote the state's competitive advantage.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of County Commissioners, join the Governor of
Colorado and the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals,
to hereby proclaim September as Workforce Development Month and September
5th is "Keep Colorado Working Day."
