RE: DIRECTING THE CLERK TO THE BOARD TO HAVE PUBLISHED A NOTICE OF
INTENT TO DESIGNATE THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF WELD COUNTY,
COLORADO, AS A MINERAL (OIL AND GAS) RESOURCE AREA OF STATE
INTEREST PURSUANT TO C.R.S. §24-65.1-202(1), AND SETTING OF A PUBLIC
HEARING REGARDING SUCH DESIGNATION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant
to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §24-65.1-401, the Board of County Commissioners has
the authority to designate "matters of state interest" in Weld County, which may then be subject
to guidelines and regulations promulgated by the Board, pursuant to C.R.S. §24-65.1-402,
and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to conduct a public hearing on June 10, 2019, to consider
designating the unincorporated area of Weld County, Colorado, as a mineral (oil and gas)
resource area of state interest pursuant to C.R.S. §24-65.1-202(1), and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §24-65.1-404(2)(a), the Board is required to publish
notice of said public hearing in a newspaper of general circulation in Weld County at least
thirty (30) days and not more than sixty (60) days prior thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Clerk to the Board be, and hereby is, directed to have published in the
County Newspaper on May 8, 2019, notice that the Board intends to designate the unincorporated
area of Weld County, Colorado, as a mineral (oil and gas) resource area of state interest pursuant
to C.R.S. §24-65.1-202(1).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that a public hearing to consider such
designation be, and hereby is, set for June 10, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., in the Centennial Hearing
Room located in the Weld County Administration Building, 1150 O Street, Greeley, Colorado
80631.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Clerk to the Board be, and hereby is,
further directed to include in the notice of intent to designate the above stated information
regarding the date, time and place of said public hearing.
