Thank you, Chelsie Beller East Colorado Small Business Development Center (970) 351-4274 Chelsie.Beller@EastColoradoSBDC.com Go Green Pallet Company Business Plan Please Note that Brady Rentals is the company that holds the real estate and leases to Go Green Pallet Company. While they are technically different companies the owners of both companies are one in the same. Steve Gorham 937 A Street Greeley, Colorado 80631 (970) 353-1667 steve@gogreenpalletco.com steve@gogreenpalletco.com Executive Summary Go Green Pallet was established in 2012 with the intent of becoming a world class pallet recycling facility. The business model is to remove unwanted pallets from end user industries such as distribution centers, food banks, grocery stores, retailers and other similar businesses. The company then refurbishes the repairable pallets and tears down the unrepairable ones to recycle the remaining wood to be used in repairing pallets or building of new pallets. The remaining scrap gets shipped to Al Organix. The future location will ground scrap wood into chips creating an additional revenue stream and significantly reducing vehicle traffic north to Eaton as well as reducing the amount of material going to the Landfill. The plan for future growth is to continue to acquire additional sources for pallets and raw material to meet the needs of existing customer's growth and to have the ability to attract new clientele. Vision To be a good steward of the earth. The company's focus is to recycle as much wooden pallet material as possible, and keep as much of that material as possible out of Landfills. The company also wants to grow with Weld County as it continues to serve the counties expanding manufacturing needs. Mission Statement To do what's right for the customer, what's right for the environment, and right for our company and its employees. Goals & Objectives Goal 1: Continue to grow Objective 1: Increase revenues by a minimum of 10% annually Objective 2: Market services to the growing manufacturing companies in Weld County. Goal 2: Reducing carbon footprint Objective 1: Implement company policies that make effective use of the new facility's energy savings capabilities Goal 3: Effective facility layout Objective 1: Design a layout in the new facility that maximizes the space and increases time efficiency Objective 2: Implement lean processing techniques to create an effective flow of traffic around the facility Goal 4: Give back to employees Objective 1: Implement career advancement policies for employees, hiring from within Objective 2: Offer training programs and advancement counseling for employees Business Description Go Green Pallet Company recycles and refurbishes wooden pallets as well as building new pallets from sustainable renewable resources. The company works to reduce the amount of material going to landfills and the overall carbon footprint of companies by using recycled materials. Site Analysis Go Green Pallet Company is currently located at 937 A Street in an 11,000 sq foot facility on 1 acre of land. The company plans to relocate to an 18,000 sq foot facility on 4.5 acres of land. The expanded facility is imperative to the sustainable and responsible growth of Go Green Pallet Company. Market Research Go Green Pallet Company primarily works with companies who ship large quantities of materials on pallets. The majority of large current customers currently market and sell food and beverage items. The company works to partner with health food stores and companies who are also giving back to the environment and have strong potential for growth. The company wants to target the natural food market, microbreweries, and seasonal agriculture businesses. The biggest competitor for Go Green Pallet Company is ProPallet in Eaton, Colorado. There are also three major pallet providers that are located in Denver Colorado. Most of the customers in Northern Colorado prefer Go Green Pallet Company because of the ethical business practices and level of customer service provided. Go Green Pallet Company often partners with the companies that are located in Denver to provide a higher level of customer service and give back to the community. Marketing Plan Go Green Pallet Company has a website that customers can search and easily find. However, most of the business that is generated by the company is through networking, word of mouth, and reaching out the local businesses. The company is also considering working with the Northern Colorado Manufacturing Partnership to generate more business. Since Go Green Pallet Company works with suppliers who have pallets that need to be recycled and customers who need pallets to ship products and services, customer service is the key to success. Communication with suppliers and customers needs to be timely and honest. Management Plan Steve Gorham and Darwin Brady are co -owners of the business. Steve acts primarily as the Chief Executive Officer, focusing on business strategies and long term growth, while Darwin Brady acts as the Chief Operating Officer working on day to day operations and efficiencies. If Steve or Darwin are unable to fulfill their roles, there is an option for buyout of the shares of the company The company employs Jorge Velasquez who is an integral role of the business. Jorge is the shop manager and is in charge of hiring, firing, and production. The company has implemented a hiring from within policy that encourages employees to learn new skills so they can advance within the company. The growth strategy is developed around employees being key assets to the business, and are treated fairly and offered competitive wages and incentives. Financial Plan The new location will cost $2,000,000. Brady Rentals is also owned by the same owners of Go Green Pallet Company, and have already purchased the land free and clear. The company has a loan commitment from Guarantee Bank to finance the remainder of the project. Go Green Pallet Company also works closely with Advantage Bank, where the company has a $50,000 line of credit which has not been used but will only be used for emergency purposes. The company is also working on filing with the Weld County Incentive Program for the buildout in unincorporated Weld County. The company has shown tremendous financial growth since formation in 2012. The company started with total revenues of $370,000 and last year ended with $3,500,000 in total revenue. The expansion into the new facility will allow the company to continue with sustainable growth and continue to serve more businesses in Northern Colorado.
