RE: PREPARATION OF BALLOTS IN DETERMINING ESTABLISHMENT OF
CHALK BLUFFS PEST CONTROL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, at the request of the ranchers in the Chalk Bluffs
area of Weld County, petitions have been circulated for the for-
mation of a Pest Control District for grasshoppers , and
WHEREAS, under the provision of Title 35 , Article 5, CRS
1973, as amended, said petitioners constitute at least twenty-
five percent of the resident landowners of said area more particu-
larly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part
hereof by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, accept said petitions and
direct the Weld County Extension Service to prepare ballots for the
determination of the establishment of the Chalk Bluffs Pest Control
District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the F. M. Loustalet, County Treasurer;
Herbert Hansen, County Assessor; and Stanley Boyes, County Extension
Agent; be and they hereby are, appointed as a Board to count the
ballots as they are returned and make a report thereof as provided
by statute.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 19th day of
June, A.D. , 1978 .

Dear Commissioners:
The ballots for voting the Chalk Bluffs Pest Control District
are hereby presented to the Board of County Commissioners by the
official counting board.
The total acres in the proposed district is 19,840 acres.
There was 19,840 acres balloted of which 19,200 acres are deeded
land and 640 acres are leased land. This is 100% of all land
in the district. There were 2 votes cast, 2 in favor, 0 opposed
in the district.
This represents 100% of those voting voted in favor.
This district to remain in effect until June 1 , 1983.

To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners
of the County of WELD , State of Colorado:
We, the undersigned petitioners, constituting at least twenty-five
per cent of the resident landowners within a contiguous territory in said
county, and being desirous of forming a pest control district pursuant to
the provisions of Chapter 6, Article 5, Colorado Revised Statutes of 1963,
as amended, do hereby petition said Board of County Commissioners for that
purpose end represent as follows:
1. That the proposed district is to be known as the

2. That the description of the boundaries of the proposed district
is as follows:

3. That the said proposed district has been invaded, or is in danger
. of being invaded, by noxious weeds, insect pa ta, or plant diseases, injuri= •
ous to agricultural crops, trees, fruits or pasture.
4. That the specific pest or diseases against which said petitioners
. desire to be protected are Grasshoppers

5. That the termination date of the proposed district is

take charge of and supervise the work in connection with the control or

hereby request the Colorado Department of Agriculture to include the lands listed below in
the current Colorado grasshopper control program and to treat said lands for the control of
grasshoppers now infesting said lands.
It is understood that the control program will be under the technical direction of

complete control results, but they agree to do the best practical control job possible
