Home My WebLink About730545 X// l'/.1 , RESOLUTION WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on May 29, 1973, in the chambers of the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, for the purpose of hearing the petition of Martin Allard, Route 1, Box 78, Kersey, Colorado 80644, requesting permission for expansion and relocation of an existing cattle feedlot operation on the following described property, to-wit: The East Half (ED of Section Twenty-nine (29), Township Seven (7) North, Range Sixty-six (66) West of the Sixth P. M. , Weld County, Colorado, and, WHEREAS, the petitioner was present, and WHEREAS, there was no opposition to the request of petitioner for the expansion and relocation of said cattle feedlot operation, and WHEREAS, the said requested cattle feedlot operation is located in an agricultural zone as set forth by the Weld County Zoning Resolution, and WHEREAS, according to Section 3. 3(3)(c) of the Zoning Resolution of Weld County, said cattle feedlot operation or any expansion thereof may be authorized upon the approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners heard all the testimony and statements of those present; has studied the request of the petitioner, and studied the recommendations of the Weld County Planning Commission, and having been fully informed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, that the application of Martin Allard, Route 1, Box 78, Kersey, Colorado 80644, for expansion and relocation of an existing cattle feedlot operation on the premises indicated above be, and it hereby is granted under the conditions following: 1. That any water and sanitation facilities to be installed shall be approved by the State Health Department. 2. That petitioner shall proceed with due diligence to expand said cattle feedlot operation and shall have up to one year from date hereof to begin construction for the expansion thereof. 3. That when expansion and relocation of said cattle feedlot operation is completed, same shall contain, in addition to the facilities present at the time of hearing, those additional cattle pens, all as shown on plat as submitted and made a part hereof by reference. 4. That all applicable subdivision regulations and zoning regulations shall be followed and complied with in accordance with the zoning resolutions of Weld County, Colorado. The Planning Commission has officially adopted the plan for land use purposes . The proposed use is located approx- imately 1 /2 mile from Windsor and would cause odor problems . The Health Department has recommended denial and it has been recommended for denial by the Town of Windsor. Mr. Kirby stated they are asking for an expansion from 700 head to 2500 head . They are vacating lots adjacent to Windsor and have been sold to a developer. They have an adequate water supply, Mr. Alec Felte stated he felt it is too close to the school . Mr. Norman Martin of the First Sheridan Corporation , with Sheridan Savings and Loan stated they own 170 acres south and west of this prop- erty and are in the planning stage for a residential subdivision and hope to be annexed to Windsor and feel the expansion of the feeding operation would be detrimental to their development.
