There is a need for design services for the Public Works Addition. GSG Architecture has used the labor rates identified in their bid and quoted a lump sum of $167,200.00 to perform this design work. In addition, an estimated $2,625 in printing/supply expenses has been identified in accordance with rates established in their bid. Bringing the total to $169,825. An amendment to the contract to accomplish this work requires BOCC approval. This was presented and approved in a pass around dated 8-14-2019. Therefore, Buildings & Grounds is recommending award to GSG Architecture for $169,825.00. If you have any questions, please contact me at extension 2023. In addition to that work described in section 2.1, the Parties may agree to additional work to be provided by Contractor pursuant to an appropriately executed Task Order, which shall be negotiated between the Parties on an as needed basis. Any such Task Order shall be signed by the Weld County Director of Buildings and Grounds before it shall be effective. In no event shall the total of all Task Orders exceed $25,000 in any calendar year unless first approved by the Board of County Commissioners. Any appropriately executed Task Order shall be automatically incorporated herein and enforceable. Scope of Task Order: 1 Design new addition to be constructed on West side of existing building, (Public Works) and be attached to the shop building. The new addition is expected to be approximately 7,250 square feet. 2. New building construction materials will match existing construction as closely as possible in appearance. 3. Develop an interior renovation plan of existing buildings main lobby/office area which provides for secure space -controlled access. Contractor agrees to perform the services identified above and on the attached exhibit in accordance with the terms and conditions contained herein and in the Original Agreement between the parties. C,A.4.4c, County Attorney Elect e(Official or Department Head Exhibit Weld County On -Call Services GSG Architecture Proposal for Public Works Office Addition August 9, 2019 Explanation of Fees: GSGarchitecture DESIGN ARCHITECTURE/PLANNING This proposal encompasses the following phases, services and deliverables listed below and is based on the programmatic and design criteria presented in the July 31, 2019 meeting and project site walk. Based on the program presented, we anticipate the building being approximately 7,250 SF, with minimal surrounding site development. The exterior will be developed in a similar fashion to the existing office structures attached to the Public Works Shop building. Additionally, this project will include developing plans for the interior renovation of the existing main office lobby area into a more secure space. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss this project and our findings with you. SCOPE OF SERVICES Schematic Design / Design Development • We will develop a schematic plan for the layout of the spaces, as outlined in the project meeting. • Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers will evaluate the existing conditions to provide input into the design of the site and MEP systems. • We will meet with the appropriate Weld County Staff to review schematic plan • We will make adjustments to the plan, as directed in the review meeting, and develop a final schematic plan to be used for the development of the construction drawings. • We will include a schematic layout of the Existing Lobby renovation with this work. • A schematic design level cost estimate will be provided. Construction Documents • Based the approved Schematic Design Plan, our team will begin work on construction documents. • We will produce 60% Construction Documents for review by the appropriate Weld County Staff. • Our team will meet with Weld County to review and discuss questions and comments. • We will make corrections to the plans, and move towards a final set plans, to include specifications. • We will develop a 95% complete set of documents, including specifications, for final review and approval by Weld County. • We will meet with the appropriate Weld County Staff to finalize any comments. • Corrections will be made to finalize the 100% bidding documents. • A construction documents level cost estimate will be provided. Bidding/Construction Administration • We will attend and facilitate a pre -bid meeting. • We will develop addenda, as may be required, to respond to bidding questions. • We will attend and facilitate the bid opening. • We will continue to act as the County's agent by reviewing construction progress. • We will respond to contractor questions, issue RFI's and provide direction/clarification to conditions that arise in the field. • The Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers will also make two (2) site visits during construction. • We will work with the County to close out construction by conducting a final walk walk-thru to develop a final punch list.
